Rise South City Community Air Monitoring Workshop - December 6, 2025 in San Bruno

We were excited for the opportunity to meet with San Bruno residents at a recent workshop hosted by our partners, Rise South City in San Bruno. Our engineering postdoctoral fellow, Dr. Brenda Lopez Reyna, joined me in sharing with the community a bit more about our field work using the TARTA to measure metallic compounds in the area and to launch our next phase of monitoring efforts to measure volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in real time. We were delighted to show the instruments to residents and answer their questions on the instruments. We also shared the latest draft of our report on our TARTA monitoring efforts. Finally, we expressed our gratitude to residents for their help in our research to advance community-engaged air quality monitoring efforts regionally and across the state.
