TARTA set up with a wind monitor outside

San Bruno’s Air Monitoring Network Expands!

It's official! Our fourth TARTA instrument is now live in San Bruno, which is super exciting for our research team. This new site is a big deal because it expands our network and gives us a much more detailed picture of the air quality across the city.

What's so cool about TARTA is that it gives us real-time data on airborne metallic particles. But to make that data even more powerful, we also deployed a wind sensor right alongside it. This is a huge piece of the puzzle! It lets us pair every detection with real-time wind speed and direction. So, if we see a spike in particles, we can analyze the wind data to get a better idea of where it might be coming from. Can't wait to start digging into all this new data!
